The Rockford Park District has an uncanny ability to know when the January thaw will occur and select that exact time to host the annual snow sculpture event. This year sculptors worked in temperatures approaching 40-degrees F. On the day of the judging, it rained. I felt so sorry for all those who had worked so hard to create art that lasted only hours.
