In the autumn, we are gifted with amazing splendor before nature plunges us into the bitter grayness of a long winter. Autumn is the time of abundance and beauty.
I plan to enjoy every moment of Indian Summer with my camera.
The hazy, cloudless skies of Indian Summer. Leaves scurrying down the street before the wind.I plan to enjoy every moment of Indian Summer with my camera.
The cold shiver from an arctic blast. Indian Summer. The last warmth of the sun.
Chilly mornings and glorious warm afternoons. The Harvest Moon. The Hunter's Moon.
The Rainy Season. Dry corn stalks clattering in the wind.
The touch of frost on grass and window pane. The smell of burning leaves.

I just love autumn photos. You've really captured lovely scenes.
The colors really popped here yesterday, but it's raining today.
We did get out over the weekend to see the colors, but they still weren't in peak like now. I put a few photos up on my blog today.

Marnie,
That first photo just blew - me - away! Gorgeous shot!-Randy
Absolutely gorgeous, Marnie! We have been blessed with such beautiful weather lately; I am enjoying every moment of this Indian Summer, too.
These are lovely shots and I like the words by Heidorn. that shot of the road winding through the trees and the water beyond is super!
Hi Marnie, what a specimen that tree is and you have made a brilliant capture of it. The green lawn is a perfect contrast. So glad you are having some warmer weather too. The days are perfection with the slanted light and still warm sun rays. Ahhh...

Absolutely gorgeous photography. I love fall!
Beautiful photos today Marnie. I love that second shot, the colors blend together like a tapestry.
I'm so glad you're going to enjoy Indian Summer with your camera. That means I can also enjoy it looking through your eyes. Great shots!!
I love these autumn photos and today it is warm and sunny an Indian summer day..
Awesome photo! Life is so grand and we all must enjoy it-Indian summers and all. Have a great day:)
Just beautiful all those colors.
Beautiful colors in those photos! Our rain has started here in the Pacific Northwest but I hear about your Indian Summer in the Midwest. Enjoy this wonderful time of year!
Hi, Marnie--I'm catching up with my blog reading, and I really enjoyed your Halloween tales (and your scary photos--you take great night shots!) These autumn views are spectacular--you've captured the light beautifully. Have you already posted to Dave's Fall Color workshop? These would be a great addition. Anyway, please know that I'm reading, even if I get a few days behind. I love your blog.
You and your camera really captured some amazing shots today Marnie. The tree is brilliant ~ it almost looks ablaze. and the scenic overlook shot is just as spectacular. I've been really bad at taking any fall photos this year but I don't think I have anything in my area that compares to these!
Hi Marnie....Isn't that Kennedy Hill Road beautiful? When I first moved here, my husband took me on a drive to see the sights. That road has to be one of my favorites.Great picture...thanks
Beautiful pics, esp the one with the horizon being trees/color/and sky.
marnie,
Your Autumn scenes are lovely! Thank you for sharing them with us today! I would have to plan my route down the hill everyday until the leaves were gone...it is gorgeous!
Gail
You surely did capture God's autumn gift to us. Beautiful photos.
I love your blog. I am a new bird watcher and thanks to you, I now know the mysterious bird at my feeder is a female goldfinch. Couldn't find it in my bird book, so thank you! :)
I love the shot of the road ... winding down to somewhere or nowhere.....
Marnie-I just love your photos and your poetry! Thanks for sharing!
I think I'll write about Indian summer for my next article.
Thanks for the inspiration Marnie!
The first picture is fabulous! Wonderful colours in the second picture. Great shots.
Marnie, glorious pictures! I don't blame you for getting out to enjoy this autumn. All too soon, it will be cold and dreary.
Beautiful photos!
These are beautiful pics.... the first is awesome.
Wow! Beautiful photographs. I really love the one of the tree...
Your pictures are always beautiful, but the first pic in this post is just breathtaking! You have a real talent for capturing great shots!
Your roadway is so beautiful!
You took a marvelous photograph too. I would love this drive, top down with the warm sun on my face...Autumn is a gift.
Thank you for lovely photographs.
Sherry
Both photos have an idyllic fall atmosphere, the blazing gold of the tree, and the patchwork fall tones around the lake. I'd love to go for a walk down that road.
You've got some great scenery. I especially like the second photo-- it's so quaint and makes you feel so happy!
Hi Everyone. Sorry I haven't responded to your comments. I took some personal time to...well, just catch up on things.
Planning to read everyone's blogs this morning and see what new and exciting things have been going on.
Marnie
I love the ghost stories and your photography is extraorindary. Beautiful bird shots.
Gorgeous shots, I can't wait to see more of autumn through your lens!
Hi Marnie,
Gorgeous shots of the trees! I wish I could be getting out to get some here while we still have the color, but work has been killing me lately...
Late fall is definitely upon us here now, and now our yard is filled with maple and gingko leaves (thanks, neighbors) ... and then there's that downed tree we still have to deal with in the back. It's cleaned up a bit but we need to get a service in here to take the rest of it out!
Sorry I haven't been by lately, not by choice, I must say. I'm just buried in work with 11 hr days lately, and I'm hating it!
But our man won Tuesday and we celebrated joyously! :-)
Very Pretty!
Beautiful color.
Gorgeous photos...the color is amazing! I just love your blog and have given you an award! Come by mine and pick it up! Have a wonderful week!
Marie
Hi Marnie,
I love the last photo of the hilly road and gorgeous foliage. Michigan is so flat!

P.S. Just read your profile... I've been single almost seven years and find I'm really enjoying the independence. I love being accountable only to myself and making my own decisions. On the downside, I'm responsible for everything that needs doing, but then again, that's not so different from having been married! ;-)
