Then all is silent and the snow,

 Falls settling soft and slow

Winter isn't ready to give up her hold on northern Illinois.  She buried us in one of those heavy, wet snows that come mostly just before spring makes an appearance.  Too heavy to shovel snow; back breaking, heart attack snow.  Perfect snowball packing, snowman rolling snow.

Snow that disappears in a few short days and leaves puddles and mud in it's wake.

But while it lasts, snow that dogs love.

Snow that inspires races.

Snow that disappoints daffodils just emerging from a long sleep.

Snow that looks perfect viewed through  kitchen windows.

Dogs sure do love snow! Cats, not so much! We didn't have one snowflake here this year at all!

Oh boy! Time for white stuff to disappear! Simple pleasure for dog! I'm loving the heat where I am!

You have much kinder comments about spring snow than I do! I'm not too far geographically from you ( I'm guessing) and I am so ready for it to be warm...looks like next week is promising! Love the photos of your dogs, they have a much better attitude than mine!

Your dogs look so happy playing in the snow. At least someone is happy about all the white stuff! LOL

Love the photos of your dogs enjoying the snow! The snow missed us last weekend, and I'm hoping we have all seen the last of it this season.

Awesome photos! It's just too bad they weren't from December, January, or even February. You will be so thrilled when spring finally makes it your way, and the ground should have some good moisture.

Indeed. But finally it all disappeared here in Bluff Country. Now the spring cleanup begins...:) And Lily can romp big time.

Your snowman is cute! Your dogs look like they are having a ball in the snow.
