April is a rainbow month, Of sudden springtime showers. Bright with golden daffodils and lots of pretty flowers.

The goldfinches are changing from olive drab to sun kissed gold.  Another welcome sign of spring

I was sure I'd lost my tiny bloodroot, it usually blooms much earlier.  I was so glad to see the pretty leaves and pristine flowers suddenly appear in mid-April.

The greigii tulips usually bloom much earlier too.  So much to love about these little tulips.  Pretty blooms, bold, striped leaves, dependable rebloom with some increase.

The first soaking rain of the season followed by the first daffodils of 2015. What a welcome site after a long, long winter.

Warming in the morning sunshine of the black barn roof.

Spring has certainly sprung! Our tulips and daffodils are already done blooming but there are more things ready to take their place. I love this time of year!

I find bloodroot to be one of the toughest wildflowers in my garden. I dig it up, slice it up, move it, and forget where it is but each year it comes back. Never fear on that one. It is such a lovely plant too. We have lots of the vultures. I so enjoy those guys but here they are year round. It must be neat having them roost so close.

My garden is just as far behind. I have crocus, hellebores and the daffodils are just peeking out of the ground.
Last summer I added some Bloodroot, and fingers crossed, it has survived. Yours is so pretty!

Wow, what a bird! Love that vulture shot! So many things are coming up later than usual, but at least they are finally coming up. So nice to see the tulips and daffodils starting to bloom after this winter. I love that bright greigii one!

Thanks for stopping by Nicki and Derry's Fuzzy Tales blog, however you found us.

Your blog looks lovely, such wonderful photos. Here in eastern Ontario we're about a month behind normal -- our crocuses are only coming into bloom now, some daffodils, tulips waiting to bud.

BTW, I read the info on your profile -- being single is easier than being with someone you're not well-matched with, that much I'll say. (And I've been on my own for over 14 years now, long settled into my life and also long past the desire to compromise.)

Peace.

Beautiful! Spring has sprung. Did you know the American Goldfinches always leave Oklahoma right when they come into spring plumage? We always have them all winter. Nature is amazing.~~Dee
